See the work before it is let.
Every day we keep an eye on contracts won, approvals, tenders and hiring across Australian construction, commercial and industrial services. These briefs are a free look at what we find. Each brief covers what changed, where the work is, and what it means for your industry.
Opportunity briefs
Filter by industry or by the kind of opportunity. Every brief covers the latest contracts, approvals and projects, and what they mean for your industry.
Non residential approvals up 14.4 per cent in July. Where the $9.93 billion lands.
Dwellings fell again. Non residential did the opposite. For any business that cleans, secures, fits out, wires or maintains a commercial building, July was the best month of approvals this year, and none of those buildings has an incumbent yet.
$242 billion of public work and 300,000 workers short. Where a subcontractor should be.
The public pipeline is the largest on record and the regions are where it more than doubles. The head contractors will win the projects. Whether they let the packages to you depends on whether you were on the list before it closed.
Data centres. $150 billion by 2030, and half of it is in New South Wales.
The chips are imported. The building, the electrical, the mechanical and the maintenance are not. For an industrial or construction services business in NSW or Victoria, this is the largest new category of scope in a generation, and the buyers are being appointed now.
NSW whole of government cleaning changed hands on 1 January. More than 4,300 sites.
The largest cleaning contract in the state ran to 31 December 2025 and its management moved to the Department of Education on 1 January 2026. When a contract this size changes manager, the subcontracting map underneath it changes too, and the regional contractors holding it need crews.
$145 million in maintenance and shutdown extensions. Where the industrial work sits.
The tier one announces the extension. The scopes underneath it are let to fabricators, crews and safety providers over the following two years. The specialists who win them are the ones who wrote to the package manager in the fortnight after the announcement.
Housing starts 27 per cent below the accord run rate. Where the trades demand goes instead.
The industry is at its limits and the apartments already approved are stuck in construction. For a trade or specialist subcontractor that means two things. The builders that are moving are desperate for reliable crews, and the demand is shifting to social housing, health and the non residential work the states are actually funding.

1. What changed, and why it matters
The latest contracts, approvals and projects in your industry, and what they mean for businesses like yours.
2. Three rules
No Win Work client, or business we have contacted, is ever named. No full email is ever published. No opinion on politics or policy, only what changed and what it means for you.
Each brief here is one opportunity. For clients, we watch hundreds.
The public briefs cover the biggest moves each week. For a client, we watch contracts, approvals, expiring agreements and job ads in their exact area every day, and pitch on their behalf to the person who decides while there is still time to win the job.
1. Contracts won and ending
Government and council tenders, and contracts coming up for renewal.
2. Approvals and expansions
Development approvals, fit outs, extensions, expansions and new managers.
3. Who is hiring
Estimators, planners, facilities and safety roles being advertised.
4. The right person
Who in each business actually gives out your kind of work.
